Geographic-stylistic classification of the drawings in the Online Collection
The schematic map offers access to all of the drawings that are currently being researched by the project cataloging the 16th-century Italian drawings at the Dresden Kupferstich-Kabinett. Each drawing is assigned to a region (column on the left); all of the sheets related to a region can be seen by clicking on that area. In addition, most of the drawings are linked to one or more cities (column on the right). Groups of works are brought together and further explored under a number of topic headings.
As the project is in progress, there are still many incomplete records and uncertain attributions. Also included are some works from the 17th century and other schools, which will gradually be eliminated from the group of Italian Cinquecento drawings in the course of the cataloging work.
